Google has found an interesting way to allow you pay in an easier way. You just have to have an android phone with NFC activated in it. NFC is a near filed communication technique that is provided by the NFC chip. If u have NFC chip on your phone then you can use the facility of Google Wallet.
Google Wallet uses your city Master card, Credit card and the Google Card for the mode of payments which can be funded with any of your existing plastic card. Even Google has provided scheme that they will add $10 bonus for those who set up the Google Wallet within this end of the year.
google wallet Google Wallet a secured mode of payments through Android

Since, this is a latest technology and we are talking about the payments, people might find it uncomfortable or unsecure to use it because of security reasons. But Google says the initiation of transition will take place only if the authorized person log in to it. And all the other payment credentials are stored in a separate chip. Thus, it would be most secured payment mode.
Feature:
Google Wallet is also going to support Visa, Discover and the American express in a near future. Currently, Google prepaid card is powered by Master card and the Money network. We can understand that the Google Wallet is very convenient in its own ways. Let us see how the Google Wallet works:
Google just has found a contactless mode of payment. Like your wallet, Google wallet will contain all the information about your credit card, coupons, loyalty card, tickets and much more. The transmitter is always off until you turn your screen on thus the transmitter chip will not be powered until you wish to. After that you have to enter your pin number to see which card you are carrying. You can then use the card you want to through the phone.
Limitation:
You have to tap your android phone on the NFC friendly card reader provided by the shop so that you do the payment. Now, only a bunch of retailers has got the update. Thus one has to deal with the thing in the present time.
Future:
The Google Wallet is most secured mode of payment and is most convenient too. None has to then swipe the card or to count the money to pay. If updates reaches to all the retailers, life will be much easier.

nasa flying suit
For the past couple of years the world’s top space program NASA has been working on a future design for the very first personal flying suit. The puffin, as they call it, measures to be approximately 12 feet in length with a 15 foot wingspan. The aircraft module would land vertically, allowing for a person to step directly into it and has blades similar to that of helicopters. The puffin concept would relatively light weight and would use electric motors, allowing for high altitudes as well as being eco-friendly.
Now to another note: is the Puffin concept practical for consumer use? Highly unlikely, or at least not for a long time. First of all, this type of flying suit would cost hundreds of thousands of dollars, if not millions, so not many people would ever get to use one, as least for quite some time. Secondly, if this flying suit were to take the place of automobiles, modern travel would be extremely chaotic and the number of fatalities would drastically increase. Any type of mechanical failure or collision with another flying suit would be devastating and regulating travel would be nearly impossible. Yes, the idea is magnificent and I think most of us would like to have an experience like this someday, so hopefully this type of future technology will be able to advance, thanks to NASA.

Future Gaming Technology: Project Natal

Project_Natal
Microsoft has recently announced an impressive addition to their popular X-Box video game system which will replace the standard controllers. Project Natal, as they call it, is the future gaming technology we have been waiting for and has built in motion sensors that allows users to act out their moves  instead of having to press buttons. So if you are playing a fighting game (such as Street Fighter) you will actually have to do some physical kicks and punches in order to defeat your opponent. Project Natal is like a Nintendo Wii 2.0 – instead of having to swing around your controller you can just use your body, and no more worrying about cracking your new plasma TV. This new technology is also supposed to be equipped with voice and facial recognition software, which I’m assuming is used to distinguish between two players and keep track of player profiles.
Nintendo had better be prepared to answer back when Microsoft releases this future technology, or any hope for more Wii sales will be obliterated (assuming Project Natal turns out to be accurate and practical). The new gaming device is projected to be released near the end of 2010, just in time for the holidays, and has been speculated to cost somewhere around $100. There have also been somerumors going around as to whether 1 or 2 people will be able to use the gaming sensors simultaneously, but most signs point to 2 players. Exciting times for us video gamers..!!

A Wall That Plays Music When It Rains

FunnelWall

I remember back in the eighties, when someone wanted to show some concept technology, they would say something like: “By the year 2000, this will be the technology”.
Apparently, 2020 is the new 2000. I don’t know how many times I’ve seen concept technology that has said: “this is the tech of the year 2020″.
This is a bracelet watch/mobile device called the Sony Nextep Computer, which has a pull-out keyboard, as well as an OLED screen.
Now, you’re probably thinking that the white box above the Sony Nextep Computer is the box that the device comes in, but it is, in fact, a hologram. Yes, that’s right, I said hologram. This is one of those technologies that requires holograms in order to be made real. I can’t help but wonder how far away is a holographic society?
I guess we’ll soon find out, and when we do, it will be one of those technologies that just takes over. Sort of like cell phones, texting, Twitter, Facebook, and everything else technological that feels like it sprung up overnight.
Anyway, the Nextep wrist computer is designed by Hiromi Kiriki, and I would love to see it on my wrist. Perhaps I’ll see it at a trade show and get a chance to try it out. In the words of George Takei: “Oh my!”

Ever wonder just how creased clothes get smoother when you move the iron back and across? If yes, then the B-IRON 725 – better described as the “Transparent Iron” – could be the revelation that you need. Designed by the Dongseok, Lee and Jihyung, Jung, the B-IRON 725 allows the user to watch the ironing process as the creased cloth surface is transformed. This has implications not only for the visual pleasure but also the efficiency with which you iron. You can immediately see just what is happening under the surface of the iron. B-IRON 725 has a surface made of tempered glass and has a nickel-chromium resistance wire that’s laid out in geometric pattern, enhancing the design. The handle rotates and allows the user a grip that he’s comfy with. The design has already been felicitated at the Reddot Design Award ’08 and seems on course for more accolades. Now if this does not make ironing a fun activity then nothing ever will.

usb memory stick
usb memory stick
Drawing inspiration from Japanese Soma-Toh or a revolving lantern, which displays a colored silhouette, designer Mac Funamizu has devised a transparent USB memory stick that illuminates to indicate the data saved, or space available for that matter, within. Synced with the icon on your desktop, the flashy pen drive distinguishes data with different colors, such as pink for images, blue for documents and green for movies. The memory stick, when translucent, indicates the availability of storage space within, while on the other hand, the glass flashing with light signifies unavailability of data space, so you could scan it to fill or remove data without going through its memory status on your system.

It is ironic that the task of reporting on this radically new-look computer has been handed over to me – someone who has had the same computer cabinet for more than 3 years now. But hey, perhaps I was waiting for just this! Designer Jeffrey S. Engelhardt has presented some very nice concepts of late and here’s yet another tasty treat from his vault. His HP LiM (Less is More) is a concept for a brilliant looking PC; brilliant in its design as well as the proposed material for fabricating its cabinet. HP LiM proposes a Bamboo shell to protect the system’s guts and simultaneously provide for better ventilation. As for the specs, HP LiM envisages a 19-inch OLED transparent touchscreen, which, by the way slides down for better handling. A wireless keyboard and a virtual trackpad are the paraphernalia thrown in with this freaky concept. Jump for some more pics. Now if only someone would make it, I’d so buy it.
